#COGSFEST20 (Postponed due to COVID)

We are delighted to announce that we will be holding #COGSFEST20 at Crawley Town FC, on The People’s Pension Stadium pitch.  This is a Festival for Women over 30* to enjoy playing football, whether you are a beginner, have only been playing for a few years or have come back into the game.

This will be a day to showcase the growing participation in Women’s Recreational Football and the enjoyment that women have from being able to play, regardless of ability.  The theme will be EURO2020 and each team will be allocated a country to play as, for the day.  We have extended the number of teams from previous years, to 28, and the 4 groups will consist of a maximum of 7 teams playing 12 minute games, so nearly 1 1/4 hours of football per team.  If there are a reduced number of teams in a group, we will increase the playing time for each game.  There may be times where you’re not playing for a couple of games but we would encourage all teams to go and chat and find out about each other! There really are some great stories to hear.

We hope to have everyone registered by 9.45 am and then we will have a team parade from the tunnel (bring any Club flags) and it will go around the pitch.  At 10.15 we’ll have a quick Managers’ meeting and the players can warm up and then at 10.30 am the first games will start.

As you may have gaps during the day, we will only have 15 minutes for lunch (the bar will also be open) and the games will finish at 4 pm (hopefully!).  There will be Awards for one team/player from each group and we want everyone to just enjoy having fun playing the beautiful game, whether you’ve just started playing or have been playing for a while.  Please note that this Festival is NOT a competition to win trophies.   Recreational players only please.  Everyone will get a medal.

At 4.15 pm we will have the Presentation and at 4.40 pm we’ll draw the Raffle, which will include a signed Lioness’ shirt and lots of other fab prizes!  We are donating all proceeds from the raffle to the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, as chosen by the COGS.

It’s £5 per player and team places will only be secured once payment of £35 (minimum 7 players) is received.  We will have some special guests and food and drink will be available throughout the day.
